The YES team were delighted to award Walker & Son -Samworth Brothers with this award at the Leicestershire Cares Celebration Event 2022.
On behalf of the YES Project team at Leicestershire Cares, I would like to say how extremely grateful we are to Tracy Renshaw and the rest of the team over at Walker & Son for all of their support in the last 12 months. Having positive and regular communication allowed us to set up multiple streams of support in the last year with Walker & Son for our NEET young people. The World of Work Tour that was delivered earlier in the year included a real insight into the roles that make up the company and the staff were extremely welcoming and informative to our participants, as well as offering interviews at the end of the tour and also goodie bags to take home!
Members of the team also gave up their valuable time to come and offer knowledge and wisdom to our participants by means of providing careers talks and mock interviews as part of our Get Ahead employability programme. We are very lucky to have their support in our work with NEET young people.Ross Cox - YES Project Development Manager
I also want to give a huge thank you to the other nominations for this award Hinckley & Rugby Building Society (hrbs.co.uk) and Home of great beer and great pubs | Everards of Leicestershire for also supporting our work with NEET young people. Your time and efforts are extremely valued and have a huge impact on a participants journey into education, employment or training.
If you are a business in Leicester, Leicestershire or Rutland and would like to offer young people from our youth projects a chance to look around your facilities and experience the world of work, please reach out.
