Volunteer in the Community

Our community development work brings together people, organisations and communities to make things happen and create positive change. We support a diverse range of community groups across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland to develop their skills and capacity to help local people thrive.

We also run campaigns throughout the year to support local community groups, families and individuals.

Community Development Volunteering Opportunities:

Team Challenges – volunteer to transform community buildings and outdoor spaces through on day practical projects for example creating a sensory garden or painting a local community venue. .

Social Challenges – volunteer to run a fun social session with a community group’s service users, e.g. baking,

Festive Challenges - volunteer on the run up to Christmas and other religious festivals to spread festive cheer for example, decorating a community venue, hosting a festive party.

Donating items and fundraising – contributing to our campaigns to raise money and collect items for groups in need.

Volunteering – giving your time to support a particular group or initiative, such as a food bank.

Skills share – delivering training to community groups, e.g. on bookkeeping, using social media, employment law and so on.

Mentoring and Coaching – linking with a community group to help them reach a specific goal.
