As we enter 2022, we will be “powering up” our “Power to Change” approach , by appointing staff to work on three new projects.
Our “Power To Change Project” is funded by the national lottery community fund and will develop and deliver activities and partnerships across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland between business, community and public sector that enable young people to:
“Develop key soft and hard skills, confidence, peer and community networks, and connections that will enable them to live happy, fulfilling and rewarding lives.”
This work will be supported by a Homelessness youth worker funded by the Nationwide building society who will support young people and community groups to address issues of homelessness.
Our “Powering Up” project is funded by Esmee Fairbairn foundation and will seek to encourage creative partnerships between Care Experienced Young People, community groups, businesses and local authority staff. It is built on the assumption that CEYP lead complex lives and, in order to progress, need to be supported to develop Power Within, Power With so they can use Power To.( see link below)
This is really exciting time to be working for Leicestershire Cares and it is great to be able to build on our strengths and networks and to be able to develop and deliver innovative and life changing work
Charlotte Robey-Turner, Head of Children and Young People, Leicestershire Cares
I am really looking forward to building on the excellent relationships we have with diverse communities across our city and county, there is so much creativity and experience we can call on to ensure no young person is left behind
Neetu Squire Head of Community Development, Leicestershire Cares
