Craft Your Future Event : A Day of Creativity, Reflection, and Positive Thinking

24 Oct 2024

Really enjoyed the session What a great group and so welcoming

Ellie lovett Pedestrian facilitator

We are thrilled to share the success of our recent Craft Your Future event, facilitated by Pedestrian. The session was designed to help participants reflect on their personal goals and tap into positive thinking, with the use of creative tools like vision boards and affirmation jars.

In the first half of the session, Ellie lovett facilitator from Pedestrian guided participants through the creation of personalized vision boards. The goal was to help each person visualize their future and focus on their aspirations. Participants also crafted affirmation jars, filling them with positive thoughts and reminders of their worth. It was a powerful exercise in self-reflection, providing everyone with the chance to share what they appreciate about themselves and set meaningful goals.

We were fortunate to have support from several key contributors.Qassim from Pedestrian provided their expertise and creativity, helping participants fully engage with the activities. Cheryl Saunders from the CGI Group was also on hand, offering encouragement and support to all attendees.

Throughout the day, we fostered a sense of community through conversation, creativity, and fun. We played games, shared laughs, and enjoyed one another’s company. The atmosphere was calm, therapeutic, and full of positive energy, leaving participants feeling relaxed and inspired by the end of the session.

The event was very enjoyable for me as a volunteer and the participants seemed to appreciate it as they all actively contributed to the conversations as well as the activities. I flet like a bit of a fraud as although I was a volunteer, I participated in the activities as well as sharing experiences. Creating the “Vision Boards” was therapeutic as well as emotionally affirmative. I would certainly recommend volunteering to assist in this activity to my colleagues if it is repeated in the future.
