Joining Up Joining In

Are you Care experienced and aged 15 - 25? Do you want to make a change to local and national policy and impact the future of other care experienced young people as well as gaining a range of new skills.

The Joining up Joining in project offers care experienced young people the opportunity to get involved in a range of campaigns based on their lived experiences of the care system. Participants on the project will be trained as peer researchers and rewarded for their participation.

What is a peer researcher? Peer researchers (also referred to as ‘community researchers’) use their lived experience and understanding of a social or geographical community to help generate information about their peers for research purposes.

The project will also give young people the opportunity to gain news skills such as learning how to host their own podcast and use a variety of creative media skills to ensure the voices of other young people are heard. Alongside of all this there will be a range of trips and social activities for the group to get involved with.

For any further information about the project please contact either Aidan Croughwell - Burton or Krishna Kothari.
