Fancy a kickabout on a Wednesday evening? Have you ever wanted to get involved in Podcasts or creative digital arts? Could you use your skills to help marginalised young women feel empowered?
Come and talk to us about business volunteering with a difference!
Leicestershire Cares currently runs several group activities for our young people, often later in the day, alongside our mainstream community, education and employability offers.
We would love to see some of our amazing business volunteers joining our groups, bringing their own skills and abilities to the table and make these experiences as varied and exciting as possible for our young people.
Our Powering Up Football offer has exploded in numbers with upwards of 30 young people attending each week. We are able to welcome volunteers who have football and/ or coaching experience as well as setting up 5 a side match with a team from your business. We welcome volunteers who are able to promote work opportunities during their visit and can arrange either a one-off visit or regular slots.
Powering Up Football takes place at St Margarets Pastures (Abbey Park) every Wednesday 4 – 5:30 pm contact Aidan@leicestershirecares.co.uk
Our Podcasting and multimedia workshops are proving popular with our young people and have ignited discussions around Care Leavers and also our Violence Intervention Project. With lots of topics lined up for future discussion we would welcome our business volunteers to come and join our “round table” discussions – share your own views and experiences and help spread the word on some important issues. Our current campaigns work will utilise podcasting as a platform for getting our young people’s voices heard so you could be part of something bigger!
Multimedia workshops ( including podcasting) takes place at Leicestershire Cares on Thursdays from 4:30 – 6pm contact Aaron@leicestershirecares.co.uk
