Based in the Gorse Covert District Centre, to the north of Loughborough, the Community Centre provides facilities for a variety of local groups as well as being a venue for meetings, training activities and parties. They work with local people of all ages to deliver activities and opportunities that are relevant and meaningful to them.
The centre has a large garden space which wasn't being used to its full potential. They asked for help to change this and to create a community garden that was a maintainable space that can be accessed by people in the community and used by visitors and groups alike. Their aim was to ensure that they meet the needs of local children and families, this might be in the form of support to run garden-based activities.
Thermofisher kindly agreed to help with the renovations, providing materials and resources, but most importantly, their volunteers time and energy to make the project a success. After 5 hours of hard work the transformation was complete.
Well done and thank you to the volunteers
The team did an absolutely fantastic job on Thursday! The garden looks wonderful.
