Here on the Powering Up Project, we have been working closely with a 18 year old female called Megan. We have supported Megan since September 2022. When Megan came to us, she was undecided, unsure, and confused about the situation she was in. She was a NEET young person who had very little to no ambition.

We started working with Megan on a 1-1 basis although she did attend the group sessions, she was very appreciative of time on her own. We worked with Megan over several weeks to help understand what issues were taking priority and why she was felt the way she did.
Over 8 weeks of intensive 1-1 work Megan is now in a great position. We have helped her to transition into an outer house at Park Lodge where she has a little more freedom and independence. Megan’s confidence and self-esteem has grown massively. When moving into her new place, Megan expressed how she liked candles and how she wanted an LED strip to brighten up her room.
The Powering Up Team bought Megan a little housewarming present and Megan was ecstatic. She said “Azra & Aidan have helped me more than I could ask for and they are always around for support which is something I’ve never had, without them I wouldn’t be where I am today”. We will continue to be supporting Megan to get some volunteering work in a café or working with animals which is something we have started to work on together.
Megan looks forward to her future and making this property a bit more of her own. She enjoys having her own space and kitchen where she is starting to learn to cook too.
