The UP-Project Case Study: JH

29 Jun 2021

JH was referred to the UP-Project in October 2020 by Leicestershire Youth and Justice. JH when referred was on a 3-year YRO. Upon joining the UP-Project, JH was not in education, employment or training (EET). JH wished to gain support from the UP-Project through attaining employment, education and training, sourcing his CSCS card, sitting mock interviews and support with job applications.

JH made positive progress towards his goals and attended both the UP-Project employability workshop and disclosure workshop. Following on from this JH attended a 1-2-1 CV session with the UP-Project and from this created a CV and is now work ready with his CV to upload to job sites in order to job search for full-time positions. JH stated…

The UP Project has been more than helpful to me, within every aspect since I started working with them.

JH has obtained his CSCS card and during the upcoming months before his test worked extremely hard to prepare himself for this. JH will be attending and participating in the upcoming job search session with the UP-Project and work towards securing full-time employment, since this is the only outcome he is yet to fully achieve.

JH was very distant at the beginning when referred to the UP-Project and struggled working within a team but has since worked extremely hard and engaged to get to where he is currently. JH participated in a 1-1 job search session and almost immediately got a phone call from one of the jobs he applied for and was offered to begin the next day.

I have gained my green CSCS labour card and I am about to start a job after attending a job search session with the project. I couldn’t thank them enough for helping me, it means a lot. They are really nice and very easy to talk to. They have helped me with a lot of things and I have enjoyed working with the project
