Young People Gain Essential Life Skills at Budgeting Workshop with HRBS.

2 Sep 2025

We were delighted to host a dynamic budgeting workshop for young people last week, delivered by business member volunteers from HRBS, Denise Bradshaw and Tracey Ingram.

The interactive session focused on building financial confidence and covered key topics such as distinguishing between wants and needs, essential spending, saving, and staying safe online. Packed with practical advice and real-life examples, the workshop provided valuable skills to help young people make informed financial decisions now and in the future.

The young people engaged enthusiastically with the activities, asking thoughtful questions and sharing their own experiences. Denise and Tracey brought energy, expertise, and encouragement, creating a supportive environment where participants felt confident to explore the challenges and opportunities around money management.

At Leicestershire Cares, we believe equipping young people with essential life skills is key to their personal and professional success. Workshops like this, made possible by the commitment of our business members, ensure that young people are better prepared to manage their finances and thrive independently.

We would like to thank Denise and Tracey for their time, energy, and dedication in delivering such an impactful session.

It was an absolute pleasure to spend a lively afternoon with an inspiring group of young people, exploring the vital skills of effective budgeting. The session was full of energy, ideas and genuine engagement, leaving me feeling proud of the enthusiasm and curiosity they brought to the discussion
