Deli France is based in Wigston, Leicestershire however has locations across the world, developing bakery, pastry and savoury products for foodservice providers, bakers and retailers in 100 countries.
We were delighted when Deli France invited our young people to take a look around the site. With everyone kitted out in PPE the cohort got a unique insight into how pastries are massed produced, safely and to a high standard – understanding the many roles, tasks, rules and regulations involved in everyday food production.
After enjoying a delicious lunch our young people joined a workshop that focussed on careers and employment routeways into food production, the group ended the day with buzzers at the ready for a quiz to test their knowledge from the day.
Our young people left the day feeling more informed about careers in food production and more confident to engage with employers in the future.
