The Rising Star Award recognises a business member champion or volunteer that may be newer to the charity but have made a strong start in supporting our work.
In her first year as a member champion, Rebecca arranged two employee engagement events at Motability HQ in Coalville, giving the Leicestershire Cares team key opportunities to chat to colleagues and promote the volunteering offer.
Rebecca also mobilised ten Motability colleagues to take part in a team challenge at the Marlene Reid Centre in Coalville, helping tidy up an overgrown and untidy area, followed by co-ordinating an impressive Bags of Hope collection and organising a work tour and festive lunch for students attending Enstruct alternative provision.
We admire Rebecca’s dedication to making the most of the membership, and even when she is busy with work, she has remained enthusiastic and supportive.
Amy Cook, Head of Children and Young People, Leicestershire Cares
We would also like to acknowledge and congratulate the other worthy nominees for this award:
Nicola Overton from British Gas and Ash McDonell from Everards of Leicestershire who have both been shining stars this past year with their own involvement in our work and also in inspiring and encouraging others to volunteer.
