The Cares team were delighted to be invited to take part in Samworth Brothers “big build” 2026. The big build brings together employees from Samworth Brothers, local community volunteers and key partners, such as Leicestershire Cares to transform a community space for the benefit of the local community.
Team Hub CIC is situated in the heart of New Parks in Leicester West and aims to bring the community together through key initiatives such as a playgroup, dance school, education provision, football, youth work and community activities.
Splash Projects work around the world with corporates to deliver large scale building and joinery projects that would otherwise be beyond the scope of an average volunteering event; led by skilled tradespeople and project managers Splash are able to realise the vision of the company and community group and execute it seamlessly to the given deadline.
The project involved building a number of wooden structures which came together to create a multi-use space including meeting pods, a performance stage and a gardening area in addition to picnic benches suited to meeting, eating and outdoor activities.
The Cares team had a great time, meeting new people, working together through time pressures and unexpected problems – learning a few practical joinery skills along the way.
