On Sunday 10th August, the Leicestershire Cares Community Development Team joined Walker & Son for their Family Fun Day at Leicester Racecourse. We were invited to bring along our Youth Event Marshals team to support on the day - a fantastic opportunity for our young people to gain valuable work experience, meet new people, and step outside of their comfort zones. And with the beautiful weather, it couldn’t have been a better day to do it!
We also hosted an information stall where Walker & Son employees and their families could learn more about the services Leicestershire Cares offers in the community. Emil, our Energy and Benefits Advice Officer, led the way by providing much-needed advice to employees, as well as sharing promotional items and goody bags filled with energy efficiency resources.
The day was truly about family and community - and Walker & Son delivered that in abundance. From what we saw, everyone had a wonderful time. The children especially enjoyed themselves, while parents and carers were able to relax and join in the fun. Hats off to the Walker & Son team, who worked incredibly hard to make the event such a success.
