Help the Homeless is a remarkable Leicester-based charity that delivers holistic, person-centred support to homeless individuals and families. What began as a humble effort to distribute hot meals from Leicester Market has evolved into a wide-ranging support network. Today, the organisation provides food parcels, clothing, hygiene products, emotional support, and assistance with housing, employment, and healthcare access.
According to recent government statistics, over 3,000 people in the East Midlands are estimated to be homeless at any given time, including rough sleepers, those in temporary accommodation, and individuals in precarious living situations. In Leicester alone, over 1,200 households sought homelessness support from the City Council in the past year. These numbers reflect not just a housing crisis, but also a profound need for integrated social and healthcare support; a gap this clinic seeks to help bridge.
