This award remains one of the toughest to win, simply because we have so many worthy winners, however, this year there is none more worthy than Dean Cross of The Haymarket Shopping Centre
Dean is a well-known and valued business member champion of Leicestershire Cares, so much so that he has recently stepped up to join our board of trustees.
This year he has taken part in several education events, supported our donation drives at Christmas and Easter and hosted a number of youth and community events such as inviting our event marshals to support the Christmas light switch on, charity gift wrapping and youth engagement in the shopping centre during February half term.
The team truly value Dean’s commitment to supporting Leicestershire Cares, even when he is busy with the day job, he is always around to offer support, guidance and ideas. I’m thrilled he has won our Volunteer of the Year Award.
Amy Cook, Head of Children and Young People, Leicestershire Cares
We would like to acknowledge and congratulate the other worthy nominees for this award:
Danielle Young from Nelsons Law, Denise Bradshaw from Hinckley & Rugby Building Society and Sue Woollett from Stepnell, all of which have individually given an immense amount of time, effort and passion into supporting others through our various volunteering programmes this past year and who are all winners in our eyes.
