We had an uplifting, creative, and empowering afternoon with our young women’s group as part of the Empower & Bloom spring session – a day designed to encourage personal growth, creativity, and connection to both self and community.
To mark Earth Day 2025, we began with a community litter pick at Nelson Mandela Park in Leicester. Before heading out, we centred ourselves with a calming meditation led by Aurélie, helping us reflect on the positive impact we can each make.
Earth Day is an important global reminder of the need to protect and respect our planet. By taking part in a local clean-up, our young women had the opportunity to actively contribute to a cleaner environment, build teamwork, and feel a sense of ownership and pride in their community – all of which are key parts of empowerment.
We also proudly registered our involvement as a Leicestershire Cares charity Earth Day action on Earthday.org.
After our clean-up, we enjoyed a relaxed picnic-style lunch with delicious sandwiches generously provided by Bradgate Bakery – a perfect way to recharge and build connections between the group and our brilliant visiting business volunteers from HRBS.

The afternoon continued with our Creative Corner where everyone decorated their own plant pots. This calming activity not only gave space for creativity but also opened meaningful conversations. Our business members shared their career journeys, offering insights, encouragement, and advice that inspired our young women to think about their own future paths.
To keep in tune with our Spring Bloom theme, we finished the session by planting flowers in our beautifully decorated pots. Each young woman left with something to nurture and grow – a symbolic reminder of their own potential and the new beginnings ahead.
It was a truly memorable day filled with reflection, creativity, connection, and growth. A huge thank you to everyone who contributed and supported – especially our young women, whose energy and openness made the session so special.
The empowerment group is on the rise, uniting a vibrant and diverse group of young women who are forging strong connections and discovering incredible insights about themselves and each other. Empowering themselves and other young women!
Don't miss out on the next session and keep an eye out for the upcoming poster and schedule details!
