Background
SM has been engaged with our programme for around two years. During this time, her journey has been varied, with periods of both progress and challenge. She has faced a range of personal difficulties, including mental health concerns, as well as housing and financial instability, which have at times impacted her consistency and engagement.
Engagement and Participation
Despite these challenges, SM has shown a positive level of commitment to the programme. She has taken part in a wide range of activities, demonstrating willingness to try new experiences and build her confidence.
SM has actively contributed to the youth forum, which played a role in shaping and delivering the Haymarket Youth Week. This involvement highlights her ability to engage in group discussions, share her voice, and contribute to community-focused initiatives.
She has also been heavily involved in podcasting activities, not only as a participant but taking on a leadership role. SM has supported and led on podcast sessions and outreach, helping to engage others and develop creative content. This has strengthened her communication skills, confidence, and sense of responsibility.
Achievements
One of SM’s key accomplishments has been her progress toward the Bronze Arts Award. She has nearly completed this qualification, which reflects her dedication, creativity, and perseverance. Her leadership in podcasting and contribution to the youth forum further demonstrate her growth in confidence and ability to take initiative.
Challenges
SM’s journey has not been without setbacks. Ongoing mental health struggles, alongside housing and financial pressures, have sometimes affected her ability to fully participate. These challenges underline the importance of continued support and a flexible, understanding approach to her engagement.
Outcomes and Progress
Overall, SM has made meaningful progress during her time with the programme. Her continued participation, leadership in podcasting, involvement in the youth forum leading to Haymarket Youth Week, and near completion of her Bronze Arts Award demonstrate resilience, growing confidence, and personal development.
Next Steps
Moving forward, continued support around her mental health and stability will be key to sustaining her progress. Encouraging her to complete her Bronze Arts Award and continue developing her leadership skills-particularly in creative and outreach activities-will help build her confidence and provide a strong foundation for future opportunities.
