Our Community Development Team recently sponsored and supported the Wesley Hall Community Centre in Leicester City for an event celebrating the Diwali religious festival.
Wesley Hall provides a range of services to support local residents and people from across Leicester City, including early years services to help families with young children, classes for adults and young people, and mental health support services.
They delivered a Diwali celebration event that gave communities an opportunity to come together, have fun, and engage in a dialogue that crossed the rich array of cultures and faith groups found in Leicester City.
Thank you to everyone at Wesley Hall who helped deliver this wonderful Diwali celebration! There is nothing better than seeing our communities come together in the spirit of friendship and goodwill to enjoy the rich and diverse culture that Leicester City has to offer.

Arriving early to offer assistance with setting up the centre’s main hall, the Community Development Team were able to spend their morning and early afternoon taking in thought-provoking and inspiring speeches by Wesley Hall’s staff and trustees, sitting in the audience for a number of delightful and extraordinary music and dance performances, and even sampling some fabulous jewellery and henna tattoo art. All before enjoying a delicious lunch of Indian cuisine!
The Community Development Team also had the opportunity to catch up with the Wesley Hall management staff and trustees, a number of local councillors, officers from the Leicestershire Police, and countless community groups we collaborate with and support. Always a pleasure to keep our connections in the city strong!
The Community Development Team would like to say an enormous thank you to Wesley Hall for organising an incredible Diwali celebration and for the opportunity to support it and take part. We are proud of our work collaborating with organisations, businesses, and local authorities to help deliver events like these. Together, we can build bridges among communities and create a safer, more inclusive Leicestershire where no one is left behind.
