It was the turn of year 10 students at English Martyrs Catholic school to have their mock interview and receive valuable feedback from local business volunteers from different sectors across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland. Staff at the school thanked volunteers for their friendly approach and for pitching the interviews at the right level to ensure all students felt at ease.
Thank you for helping the students feel at ease. Some went in feeling very nervous but they all left with a smile on their face and said how well they thought it had gone, how friendly the interviewers were, and how they now understand to some degree of what an interview is like.

Students all appeared very well prepared and eager to engage with the interview. The group of students to whom I spoke were all very forth-coming and a joy to speak with.

A total of 180 students were interviewed over two mornings which brings our total to just over 1800 students across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland who have benefited from a remote mock interview with a person from the business world this year, despite disruptions due to Covid-19.
He was honest and gave good advice about the working world.
