The Education team have had another successful year with great feedback from volunteers, schools and students. Whilst delivering our usual employability events with mainstream schools, we have collaborated with Leicester Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) services to deliver our 'A Focus on the Future' employability programme. We have also joined the Leicester and Leicestershire Enterprise Partnership (LLEP) as part of a project called 'We Discover' . Both of these projects have a focus on boosting employability skills for students with SEND
Interview Technique and employability events
We recruited 308 business volunteers to deliver 30 mock interview events to 16 schools this academic year. These have been both remote and face to face sessions. In total 2417 students received an interview and valuable feedback from a business volunteer.

In addition, we recruited 79 volunteers to deliver 33 employability events to 11 schools including activities such as Speedy Speakers, Guess my Job and CV Skills workshops. These have been both remote and face to face sessions. In total 7609 students have been supported with their employability skills. We were able to highlight some of our employability activities that link business with schools to celebrate National Careers Week 2022
Relaunch of the Go for Reading project.
2 schools are now up and running with the Go for Reading project with 3 volunteers at The Hinckley Academy and 2 volunteers at Fullhurst Community College. Further volunteers have recently been trained and will be inducted into a school ready to volunteer in the new academic year.
