Thank you to businesses for Festive engagement

14 Feb 2024

Our Community Development Team recently completed the Festive Challenges campaign during the 2023 festive period. This annual campaign aims to spread joy and cheer among the community groups in Leicester and Leicestershire. We collaborated with business members to support local group events, working together to make a positive impact on people's lives.

This year, 10 businesses and 53 volunteers devoted their time and support to 9 community groups. The challenges varied from serving and donating food at festive lunches, decorating a Christmas tree in a community space, providing afternoon tea and games, and donating food for a festive buffet. In total, the businesses volunteered over 1880 hours of their time to help others during this special time of year. Community hubs, dementia day centres, young parents groups and activity centres all benefited from the kind generosity of the businesses involved.

I just wanted to send out a big thank you for all your help last week and the support of your organisations that supported us. The event was a great success and we raised £500 over the 3 days.

I just wanted to send you a big thank you for all your team did this week. I was blown away by their attitude and care and willingness to get stuck in.  We’re so grateful, every single one was a massive help and we’re all really thankful that they came.

The Festive Challenges campaign puts into practice our "Power to Change" model, which lies at the heart of everything Leicestershire Cares does. On the Community Development Team, we strive to establish and strengthen collaborative networks of businesses, community groups, and service providers who can support each other's work in delivering lasting positive change in the lives of vulnerable and disadvantaged people.
