Great news from the National Lottery Community Fund

30 Sep 2020

We are delighted to announce that we have been awarded a grant of £43,000 by the National Lottery Community Fund to enable us to scale up the work we are doing connecting business, community and local government so nobody is left behind as we transition out of the pandemic.

The grant will run for six months from 1st October and will enable us to offer support to a range of isolated and vulnerable young people across the city and county as well as supporting a wide range of community groups. Over the last six months our support has included running a wide range of remote activities, brokering partnerships between business and community groups which has led to food, essential items and PPE being distributed. We have also been encouraging businesses to share key skills with community groups such as using social media and financial management. Neetu Squire, homelessness development officer for Leicestershire Cares said

This is a great opportunity to take our work forward and to build on the creativity and agility that business, community and local government have shown over the last six months. If we continue to work together, we really can make a difference in ensuring nobody is left behind.
