People development award

21 Sep 2020

We are delighted to have been shortlisted for the East Midlands Chambers Commitment to people development. The award recognises the tremendous efforts we have made as a team to build a supportive work culture that enables staff to flourish and grow. It is also validation of the efforts we have put into staff development, which has included team training on personal learning styles and diversity, individual training and regular opportunities to share and learn from each other as we monitor and review our progress against KPI’s . We also realise that staff wellbeing is crucial and we have a staff group who lead on this and help us all take time out to “chill”, share and support each other.

As an organisation we believe that people are our most valuable asset and the best way to develop and deliver quality work is by having a supported and empowered team. Key to our approach is being creative and agile and empowering our staff to have the authority and confidence to make decisions that respond to the ever changing context of our work.

Sarah Green, Head of Operations and Community Development

All of our work is driven by our Vision, Mission and Values which we see as a compass that enables staff to find their way through the many challenges that we face. This has been especially true during lockdown, where our ability to be creative and adapt quickly has been key to our success in supporting so many young people, job seekers and community groups.
