13 Sep 2021

With our annual awards fast approaching we are excited to be able to celebrate with our business volunteers and show thanks for all the great work they do on our Care Experienced Young People’s project.

Our shortlist is created out of innovation from our business members in co-production, design, mentoring, networks, conversations and support to boost care experienced young people’s self-esteem and confidence.

We have 4 Businesses shortlisted for our ‘Outstanding contribution to work with Care Experienced Young People 2021

Care Experienced Award Nominees 2021 -

Everards Brewery Ltd

Revolution Kitchen, Samworth Brothers

Sytner Group

Thermo Fisher

All of these businesses as well as many of our other member businesses / organisations will be joining us on September 22nd 5pm -7pm at Winstanley House, Leicester for our awards evening. Please follow us on twitter @leicsCares for news of the evening.

We would like to sincerely thank all of our volunteers who have shared their time, knowledge, experiences and motivation with our Care Experienced young people. Building professional networks is part of our Power to Change way of working with young people and the interactions our business member volunteers have with our care experienced young people often leads to opportunities to learn, increase their social capital and operate and navigate in networks that are often closed to them. But, it’s not just a one way thing. The interaction also acts as a way to educate businesses and professionals about the lives and barriers that care experienced young people face to finding employment, and succeeding in life.

Thank you.
