This week, Leicestershire Cares was delighted to present Keeley Jeffries, one of our committed Go For Reading and employability volunteers, with our Education Volunteer of the Year award for 2019-20.

As well as her weekly commitment to reading with students at Hinckley Academy, Keeley volunteered for multiple speedy speaker and mock interview events before the school closures last academic year.

During the lockdown, Keeley went above and beyond helping us deliver webinars, videos and thinking of new ways to support students learning from home to continue exploring different careers.

Charlotte Robey-Turner, Head of Children and Young People, said:

Keeley is a well deserving recipient of our highest education award for our business volunteers. Her commitment and enthusiasm has shone through in this difficult year, and students have greatly appreciated hearing about her experience and gaining her advice on how to find a career that suits them. Our education team want to say a big thank you to Keeley for all the time she has dedicated to our projects over the last year.
