Leicestershire Cares organised its annual Spring Champions Lunch on March 6th, 2024. The event brought together business members to provide them with updates on the organisation's work, the impact of their engagement, and ways to get involved in future projects. The event was attended by champions from many local businesses, as well as employees of Leicestershire Cares, including CEO Kieran Breen. One of the focal points of the event was to present Golden Heart Awards as a means of thanking our business members for their time, support and contributions towards our various initiatives and campaigns.
One such award was presented to a business who has shown remarkable support for Leicestershire Cares' festive campaigns. They contributed an incredible amount of time, energy, and enthusiasm to various events.
As part of our Festive Challenge campaign, a local dementia day care centre was treated to a beautiful afternoon tea, including cream scones, and the team of 15 volunteers provided bingo entertainment, prizes and gifts. The 25 guests were thoroughly entertained and engaged throughout the afternoon.
They also took part in Toys on the Table and encouraged others to participate and support the campaign. Finally, Walkers Sausage and Deli also deserves recognition for the incredible number of Bags of Hope that were donated to many community groups throughout Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland. The continued support and engagement is highly appreciated.
