Leicestershire Cares organised its annual Spring Champions Lunch on March 6th, 2024. The event brought together business members to provide them with updates on the organisation's work, the impact of their engagement, and ways to get involved in future projects. The event was attended by champions from many local businesses, as well as employees of Leicestershire Cares, including CEO Kieran Breen. The lunch, hosted by Nylacast, provided the opportunity for Leicestershire Cares to say thank you to business members, and to celebrate their collaboration by awarding Golden Hearts as a means of saying thank you.
The Community Development Team gave one of their awards to Thermo Fisher Scientific. During the festive season, their numerous volunteers gave their time at a Christmas lunch event and also supported an initiative creating large family hampers of festive treats and gifts, which were subsequentially distributed within the local community.
They also organised teams to volunteers at Toys on the Table and participated in the Bags of Hope campaign. In addition to this, several colleagues got involved in our Knit-for-November initiative, and together they created an amazing collection of beautiful hats, jumpers and cardigans that were distributed to numerous community groups and were very gratefully received.
