How can we #BuildBackBetter for care leavers?

6 Oct 2020

In the second webinar of our BBB Youth Welfare series, we will be discussing the issues with the current care system and how we can #BuildBackBetter for care leavers. Taking place in National Care Leavers Week 2020, this is a timely opportunity for stakeholders to consider how some of our most vulnerable young people can be supported to achieve their potential.

Led by Charlotte Robey-Turner, Head of Children and Young People at Leicestershire Cares, we will be joined by Councillor Sarah Russell, Deputy Mayor for Social Care and Anti-Poverty at Leicester City Council, and Emily Quinton, Senior Manager - European Events and Communications at Thermo Fisher Scientific, to discuss how local government, business, and the community can work together to improve outcomes for care leavers. A care experienced young person will also be sharing their experiences of and views on the care system and how it could be improved.

Our ongoing series of #BuildBackBetter webinars focused on Youth Welfare will be running over the coming months. The BBB Youth Welfare webinar series is a partnership between De Montfort University, Leicestershire Cares and the LLR Safeguarding Children Partnerships. If you care about how government, community and business can best work together so nobody is left behind then this is a must attend event, as are the next webinars in this series.
