A huge thank you to all the volunteers we had at Limehurst, who helped to widen our student's horizons when thinking about their future careers.
This academic year, Just over 290 volunteers have supported over 8500 students with their interview and wider employability skills through our education projects.
National Careers week 2022
March saw National Careers Week 2022 where we delivered a range of careers events across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland to help students make career decisions and bridge the gap between education and the world of work. Raising career aspirations for students with special educational needs
The spring term saw the Focus on the Future project come into bloom with both students and volunteers benefitting from hearing from specialists, and volunteer speakers with lived experience of a visual impairment.
It was good to understand the challenges facing visually impaired young people and what we can do to support applicants and colleagues in the future.

Champions Lunch
At our remote champions lunch in March the Education team presented 2 amazing business volunteers with Golden Heart Awards for their commitment to our projects.
Go for Reading
We are delighted to have the Go for Reading project up and running once more with a strong team of volunteers now visiting Hinckley Academy every Tuesday morning to support students with their reading.
We are currently holding short Go for Reading information sessions with 2 training dates set for the end of May.
