Every Champion’s Lunch we organise one person is awarded with the Champion’s Champion award. This goes to one of our member Champion’s who gone up and beyond to support Leicestershire Cares.
Sally Romankiw from Samworth Brothers – Walker’s Deli & Sausage Co was awarded for her sterling effort in supporting Leicestershire Cares in various ways. She has been brilliant at rallying colleagues to support pupils within Secondary Schools to give mock interviews, she coordinated supplying food to be sent to those in need, she shared her expertise and ran an online webinar on the benefits of PR for VCSE’s and showed personal commitment through making and donating safety masks for our participants. Sally has gone above and beyond to ensure nobody is left behind.
I was truly shocked to be awarded the Champions’ Champion and it is an achievement that I share with and extend to my team. As soon as restrictions were brought in, we found new opportunities to do good, and I thank Leicestershire Cares for instantly linking me with organisations to support. Its been rewarding to see colleagues both coming to me with ideas to support Leicestershire Cares, as well as getting involved in their various projects. The last 9 months working with Leicestershire Cares have not only felt ever so rewarding in doing good, but has helped to push myself personally, developing so many skills along the way. They are a lovely, supportive team and I look forward to doing even more great things with them!
