The fourth webinar of the #BBBYouthWelfare series is focusing on how young people’s housing arrangements have been impacted by the pandemic and what we can do about it. Housing and homelessness are issues important to all of us. However, the vulnerabilities that young people usually experience with housing have been amplified by this pandemic. To give just some examples, lockdown measures accompanied by shortage of accommodation options are trapping some of our young people into abusive households or putting those in informal housing arrangements at higher risk of becoming homeless. We have seen since the start of the pandemic that organisations are able to mobilise quickly – for example as part of the ‘Everybody In’ campaign, but resources are tight, affordable housing is scarce and we do not yet know what sustainable solutions might be possible for the future.
You will be invited by Liz Dunn (Safeguarding Learning Project Development Officer at Leicester at Leicestershire and Rutland Safeguarding Children Partnerships and Chair of this webinar) to engage in a discussion about issues such as these with guest speakers:

Cllr Elly Cutkelvin (Assistant City Mayor Education and Housing of Leicester City).
Together we will look at finding ways in which our communities, businesses and local government can work collaboratively to support safe, secure and affordable housing for young people as we transition our of lockdown.
