Spreading the word!

4 Dec 2019

Kieran Breen our Chief Executive, gave two talks to a packed a conference at De Montfort University about why the care system is failing young people and how we can improve it by building partnerships. Feed back was overwhelmingly positive and participants were keen to keep in touch and find out more about our Promise to Care campaign.

Charlotte Robey-Turner our Head of Children & Young People, was on BBC Radio Leicester talking about our work with care experience young people. Rudi Parra-Watson our WIRE Project Development Officer, was also on BBC Radio the following morning along with Paul, one of our participants. They set out the "win win" case for supporting ex offenders into work and how this reduces offending, increases tax revenues and makes our communities safer. A number of businesses have already been in touch to say they want to work with us.
