On behalf of all our staff and many stakeholders I would like to wish you and your colleagues a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. The last year has been eventful and has thrown up a fair number of challenges for many people across our city and county, especially those who are living in poverty.
It has been great to see our members working together and the 1500 employee volunteers we have mobilised this year have;
- Supported 6500 children and young people in schools developing numeracy, literacy and employability skills
- Helped 350 job seekers young and old from disadvantaged backgrounds move into education, training and work
- Developed the capacity and given practical support to 50 community groups
- Collected over £20K worth of goods for starter packs for those affected by homelessness and toys for vulnerable children who otherwise might not receive a Christmas gift.
We have increasingly been sharing the learnings arising from our work into relevant practice and policy discussions.
The news feed of our website will give you lots of updates of the great work we have been delivering.
All of this was made possible to due to your enthusiasm, creativity, energy and empathy. As we move into 2020, we want to build on our strengths and develop even more ways that your business can partner with us, so nobody is left behind.
We look forward to working with and learning from you.
