Leicestershire Cares is the proud winner of the East Midlands Chamber Leicestershire Education and Business Partnership Award 2019, sponsored by Blueprint Interiors. Our Education team collected the award at the Chamber's annual awards ceremony on Friday 20th September.
The award recognises providers that engage effectively with business, supporting schools to develop strong partnerships with local businesses and helping pupils to develop crucial employability skills valued by employers.
Leicestershire Cares was one of 13 organisations to win an award on the night, as the Chamber celebrated the strength and successes of businesses across Leicester and Leicestershire.
Charlotte Robey-Turner, Head of Children and Young People at Leicestershire Cares, said:
"Leicestershire Cares is delighted to receive this award and recognition from the East Midlands Chamber for our Education projects. Last academic year, we mobilised more than 400 business volunteers to support over 6,800 students in primary and secondary schools in Leicester and Leicestershire, improving their skills and confidence in employability, maths and English. It is wonderful to see the hard work and dedication of our business volunteers recognised and celebrated with this award. We'd also like to thank the Edith Murphy Foundation for their generous support which has enabled us to grow our work with schools."
