Our whole team took time out of our busy schedules last Thursday to spend time with Lyn Warren from Joules to learn more about diversity , dignity and inclusion in the workplace.
Key learning arising was how it is easy to label and to make assumptions and how many issues not black and white. So open and honest dialogue based on respect , empathy and kindness are crucial if we want to build an empowered and diverse team.
We also recognised that we all have to strive to create a learning culture , where we give and encourage constructive feedback and are prepared to reflect , learn and adapt.
It was a great session and also gave us all a chance to recognise the rich diversity of lived experience our staff bring to our work.
