Leicestershire Cares was visited by Mathew Gordon, the Chief Executive at Spectra, who are the delivery partner for the Care Leaver Covenant [https://mycovenant.org.uk/], on 7th of August. The meeting discussed how both parties could work together to help the transition of 16-25 year old care lavers to living independently.
In order to provide a greater level of support at this crucial stage during the transition of care leavers to adulthood, wider society also needs to play a part, which is where the Care Leaver Covenant, and the work that Leicestershire Cares does.
Leicestershire Cares is spearheading work in Leicester and Leicestershire, bridging the gap between care leavers and business, ensuring that our local business and communities understand the needs of care experienced young people and tap into the vast reservoir of goodwill, talents and generosity that is within every community. Projects in the pipeline include our Promise to Care: How businesses can support local care leavers initiative.
Leicestershire Cares is looking forward to collaborating with the Care Leaver Covenant as #TogetherWeCan improve the lives of care experienced young people.
