On Tuesday this week we launched our #TogetherWeCare initiative to recognise and celebrate individuals and groups across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland that are providing outstanding support to their local community during the current coronavirus crisis. Today at 11.15am, our CEO Kieran Breen, will be on Radio Leicester talking about this.
To listen to Kieran's feature on the BBC, please click here and listen from 11:26.
The initial response has been amazing with almost 60 nominations being received in just 48 hours.
Examples of those being nominated include a Design teacher who has designed and produced some vital PPE equipment for a local doctors surgery, owners of a convenience store who have been delivering food to those in need and supporting those working in the NHS and many individuals who are volunteering on the front line and helping those isolated and at risk.
These are all fantastic examples of community spirit with people stepping up and providing outstanding supporting during these challenging times.
If you know an unsung hero that deserves recognition, we would like to hear from you. Please nominate them by following the process below and we will send a thank you email and certificate from Leicestershire Cares.
All submissions can be entered by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org
Please include the nominees:
- Email address
- Why you are nominating them?
- A photo – which we will upload on our #TogetherWeCare webpage*
*By submitting a photo, you are giving us permission to upload the photo to our website as part of the recognition process of this initiative. If you do not have a photo or would prefer not to submit one, that’s fine, we would still love you to submit your nomination so we can celebrate all those that are going above and beyond during the coronavirus pandemic.
