Live speakers inform students that apprenticeships can be a rich and rewarding career pathway
During the spring term we have delivered a series of live speaker webinars to students across Leicester, Leicestershire, and Rutland where business volunteers have spoken about their experiences of working in sectors such as Finance, IT/Digital, Law and Construction. These online webinars have enabled students to put their question across live to the speakers to gain valuable advice and tips about the career they are interested in.
Being able to ask questions live and to hear the speakers answer your question is great, thank you.
The advice about how some businesses offer remote work experiences was very useful.
In the latest of these webinars we were joined by Ria and Chloe from Morningside Pharmaceuticals, Bethany from Mattioli Woods and Matty from Walkers Sausage & Deli, part of The Samworth Brothers group. All our speakers informed students about how apprenticeships have helped them to develop within their companies and what exactly apprenticeships entail.
In the Q&A live session speakers were able to clear up any misconceptions or concerns students may have had about choosing the apprenticeship route over going to university. All speakers raised the point that students may not always end up on the path they have planned but to be adaptable and openminded, grabbing attractive opportunities as they come along.
We want to thank all our speakers who have helped to make our webinars a success this school term. We hope that it has motivated students to continue to think and plan their futures despite the disruption to school life they have experienced over the past year.
