Barry Grant started working as a Number Partner volunteer for Cadent (formally National Grid) in 2006 while based at their Hinckley Operational Centre. Even after his retirement, he loved the project so much that he decided to continue and today has been awarded a Golden Heart to celebrate his fabulous 10th Year of service to St Mary’s Primary School in Hinckley. Joanne Hudson, Number Partners Coordinator surprised Rosie Cox from National Grid with a Golden Heart Award for 5 years of dedication to the project. National Grid Volunteers Help to Transform School

Dorothy Goodman School in Hinckley has been given a brand new look – thanks to employees from National Grid. A team of 12 volunteers swung into action to give the Lower and Upper Schools a lick of bright coloured paints.   With perfect weather conditions the team, armed with paint brushes, tackled steps, sheds, a playground area, benches, the huge main hall and other indoor areas.   “Our team really got stuck in and worked hard.
