On Wednesday 10th May, Manjit Saimbi was presented with a long service award for 10 years of superb support to the Number Partners Project.Manjit volunteers at Westfield Junior School in Hinckley and started volunteering in 2007 while working for Cadent (previously National Grid). After retiring, Manjit was keen to continue supporting local pupils to share his enthusiasm and interest in working with numbers and young people in his local community. His dedication to the project has meant that over 100 pupils have now benefited from his knowledge, confidence and sense of humour with one child...

New Hinckley based member company Checkprint, were delighted to receive a very special delivery on Monday 8th May. The volunteers from all departments within the business, were excited to get their hands on a new set of Number Partner games which have been generously funded by the Parent, Teacher & Friends Association at Battling Brook School. Checkprint have engaged 8 of their staff team to deliver a weekly session with pupils from Year 3 & 4 at Battling Brook, with the emphasis on making maths magic and putting smiles into sums! Celebration in the sunshine in Hinckley!

Barry Grant started working as a Number Partner volunteer for Cadent (formally National Grid) in 2006 while based at their Hinckley Operational Centre. Even after his retirement, he loved the project so much that he decided to continue and today has been awarded a Golden Heart to celebrate his fabulous 10th Year of service to St Mary’s Primary School in Hinckley.
