Christmas arrives early for pupils in Loughborough!

  Thorpe Acre Junior School were delighted to receive a set of maths games to support the Number Partners volunteering project at the school. The games were very kindly donated by Thermo Fisher Scientific in Loughborough and will be used each week during the fun sessions. Thermo Fisher Scientific volunteers are also joined by staff from DNVGL, also based in Loughborough. Volunteering makes you happy!

A new survey by social platform Neighbourly (November 2017) has found that employee volunteering is the route to a happier workplace. The survey, carried out by an independent research company with 2,000 people across the UK, found that employees who have volunteered with their company are 13% happier than those who have not. From staffing tea trollies to a sponsored silence, Directors washing their staff’s cars and having armpits waxed to employees running 1,000 miles between them! Today is the start of our very first Leicestershire Cares Week where member businesses and schools have been invited to raise funds to support the important work that we do including helping school pupils, the homeless, care leavers and ex-offenders.
