New Term, New Games!

National Grid volunteer Andrew Cleaver and children from Richmond Primary School in Hinckley were delighted to receive a new set of Number Partner games this week.

Joanne Hudson, Number Partners Coordinator commented “Volunteers work tirelessly year in and year out with the Beam Games and it’s so nice to add a bit of variety to their weekly sessions. The new games have been funded by the school and will be a great addition to support the children.”

Becky Lawrence, Maths Lead at Richmond added “We are really lucky to have a fantastic and dedicated team of Number Partners who over the past 5 years, have motivated and engaged our children in maths. The children are really excited by the new games and we can’t wait to get playing!”

Andrew was most definitely excited to play a game of maths scrabble with the enthused children! When asked why he is involved, his answer says it all. “The best part about volunteering for Number Partners is not only seeing the kids improve their maths skills (and have fun whilst doing it) but also seeing their confidence improve during the course of the school year.  It’s really rewarding to see the kids come out of their shells and their personalities start to shine through!”
