Massive Mini Makeover Success

Leicestershire Cares member firms and their volunteers have blitzed a series of mini-makeover challenges at charities and other community buildings.

Billed as Massive Mini Makeover Challenges, April and May saw four businesses take time out from work to complete team challenges with just a handful of volunteers.

Leicestershire Cares is keen to show that even small teams can make a big difference to a community group or charity.

The teams who took part were:

  • Jewellery and watch retail group Aurum, whose volunteers painted the entrance to Hinckley Mencap
  • Law firm Nelsons, whose volunteers decorated a residents’ lounge at VISTA’s Kathleen Rutland Home
  • Samworth’s Kettleby Foods, whose volunteers painted a room to be opened to the public for the first time at Quorn Old School
  • Law firm Gateley, whose volunteers have been decorating a communal lounge at disability charity Community Integrated Living

“It’s great to see so many Leicestershire employers and their staff volunteering to help. The idea of the mini makeover Challenges is to show that small numbers can have a big impact on groups who need help but don’t have enough resources.”
