Kieran grew up in Hampshire and obtained an honours degree in Politics & International Relations from Reading University in the early 1980s.
He then worked for Save the Children Fund for 13 years initially as a Project Youth Worker and then Leader and latterly as Assistant Program Director (UK & E.Europe). During that time he obtained a Postgraduate Diploma in Youth & Community Work and completed a Postgraduate Research into Empowerment course through Surrey University. During this period Kieran also obtained professional qualifications in Counselling and training for trainers.
He was Chief Executive of the Child Brain Injury Trust for two years from 2001 before joining Voluntary Services Overseas for seven years.
In 2010, Kieran joined Cuso International and over a 6 year period had a number of Program and Director roles with responsibility for activities in Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean.
For the last few months, Kieran has worked for ADD International providing interim leadership for their activities in Tanzania.
When not working, Kieran enjoys spending time with family and friends, country walks, music and current affairs. He also lives in hope that Leicester will retain the premier league title!
