Employ Me! Tour at Lexus

On Tuesday 21st September, 6 students from Crown Hills Community College were invited on an Employ Me! Tour of Lexus in Leicester.

The tour was led by Richard Rhodes, Head of Business, and began in the company’s board room with an introduction to job roles within the organisation. Career pathways for Receptionists, Service Technicians, Sales Executives and Administration staff were presented to the students with an explanation of how each role contributes to a good customer experience overall.

The students were then shown around the offices, service and valeting areas of Lexus before moving on to the showroom and used car area. They were also given the opportunity to explore the cars in the showroom, which they thoroughly enjoyed!

Upon returning to the board room, the students were split into two groups to complete an employability exercise on time keeping and the impact poor time keeping has on the business. Both groups put forward some great suggestions and showed a good understanding of the importance of being on time.

Feedback from the students was very positive, with comments including “It was fantastic!” and “Everything went smoothly and was very informative”. They were also all keen to know more about working as Sales Executives and Technicians.
