ASA staff roll up their sleeves for local charity

16 staff from the ASA (Amateur Swimming Association) Club Development team volunteered together to complete a Team Challenge to support the work of the Redgate Farm Animal Sanctuary, Coalville.

The aim of the day was to help create a brighter, fresher environment at the Farm and encourage further visits by prospective charity supporters and animal adopters.

Staff completed tasks such as planting hedgerow saplings, turfing planters, creating innovative animal feeders and tidying up the entrance to the farm.

The improvements made will also allow staff greater time to spend with animal residents as well as further support their work with disabled adults and young people.

“This was a great opportunity to support a local project and give something back to the local Leicestershire community.

“Although the ASA is based at SportPark in Loughborough, the team works across all areas of the country supporting local aquatic clubs, so opportunities like these are particularly important to build a stronger team. Everyone had a fantastic day and enjoyed doing something outside of their normal skillset.

“We all felt a great sense of achievement from the Challenge and hopefully we have made a positive and sustainable impact on Redgate Farm Animal Sanctuary.”

Jon Keating, ASA Head of Club Development

“The team have worked exceptionally hard at Redgate and should feel very proud of themselves!”

Katharine Lightbown, Community Development Manager
